DPS 2 Progress 25/01/12
I have started to produce my second DPS which is an article
about Rob Shepherds Kayaking experience. I have used an article which is in a
magazine called DOR to use as a layout template for my article. I am doing an
introduction page which has the title and a small description underneath. My 1st
page is going to have a large close up of my models face and my third page will
have the actual interview. I have used a coral and grey colour scheme throughout
this article. The colours are natural and laid back. They give off a sporty
vibe without being too overpowering.

I decided to change the layout of my DPS 1 again. I was originally
going to create 2 pages for this article but I think changed it to three. After
designing my introduction page I decided it would look better to put the
introduction onto the second page and just have two pages in total. I decided
this because there wasn’t much information on the first page and it was a bit
of a waste. Also my second article is 3 pages long. These images show the way
that my first DPS has developed.

Monitoring Log Week Beginning 21/01/12
This week I was schedules for writing my interview for
Rob Shepherd, write the headers for each of my articles and think of which
narrative voice I am using for each of my articles.
I have started writing my interview for Rob Shepherd
so I can ask him the questions this weekend. I will need to complete all of the
questions over the next few days. On Tuesday I have looked at magazines such as
TGO, Kingpin and DOR. I read through some of the articles to see which narrative
voice was being used. This was helpful as it showed me how I should write my
articles. This week I have also thought of all my headers for each of my pages
and I have put them onto Photoshop and InDesign on the correct pages.
This week I noticed that it might take me a long time
to produce my InDesign and Photoshop work so I started creating my first and
second DPS and my front cover for my magazine this week. I started by setting
the dimensions of each of my pages (280mm by 42mm). I then copied the styles of
a magazine called DOR for the layout. This magazine has the same target
audience as my magazine so the layout will be appropriate.
I started creating my Front Cover as this is similar
to my mock p front cover I have used the same file but I have changed the
headlines and moved them about. I have also changed the colour scheme slightly.

InDesign and Photoshop Progress
I have started creating my Rob Shepherd interview
article. I have created a new document to the right dimensions for my magazine.
I have copied the layout for this article from a travel magazine called DOR. I
decided to change the layout of this DPS because I felt mine was too boring.
The pages in DOR magazine present the article in a different more interesting
way. I am going to take a very close up picture of my model on the left hand
page, on this page there is going to be no writing. . This article is going to
have three pages.
I have written all of my sell and headlines
for my magazine. I then used them to create my front cover of my magazine. I
have used the colour scheme of yellow blue and beige as these are the colours I
set out to use in the treatment. I placed a barcode from the internet onto my
front cover. I put on the price of my magazine to make it sound professional.
When I have done my front cover photo shoot I am going to put the image in the
background.
